Romania / Ukraine
Romania and the Ukraine are Eastern European countries that over threw communism in 1989. During the communist period the church was oppressed and operated mostly “underground”. Because of this about ninety percent of the population has never heard the gospel. But the people of both countries are very open to hearing Gods plan of salvation. The churches and pastors desire help in reaching out to the spiritually lost of their cities. Most pastors serve more then one church, earning about Two hundred dollars a month. Our coming along- side pastors and their churches, serving with them and supporting them, is an incredible encouragement to our partner churches in Romania and the Ukraine. The people of Romania and the Ukraine love Americans and by working with the local churches we give credibility to them. Romania and the Ukraine are peaceful countries with no ethnic or political violence, they are emerging countries that are recovering from fifty years of communism.
